Grading Antlers

Our Grade Types

Grading antlers is a simple process. There are three categories of antlers A, B, and C.
Big Hole Valley Antlers do not discount for broken tines or chew marks.
We grade together and make sure all parties are satisfied.

Grade A
Brown Antlers

Natural brown color with no fading from side to side. Typically a fresh shed or cut-off.

Grade B
White Antlers/Hard White

Antlers are faded white and still smooth to the touch, the antler may have hairline cracks.

Grade C
Chalk Antlers

Any antler that does not fit into A or B grade will be C grade. Typically the antler is rough to the touch, has deep cracks and shows heavier weathering.
